This is how bad it is now, it's set to get much much much worse - and then we lose Low Earth Orbit until the mess cleans itself up, if it cleans itself up. No weather satellites for forecasting, no GPS, and definitely no crewed spaceflight. All because of ego and greed. It must be stopped.

This cognitive shrinkflation that's happening everywhere is really getting to me.

Saw a billboard earlier today that had a very obvious typo in it, in a word that a 6 year old would be expected to spell properly. This mistake somehow made it through the advertisement agency, the printers, and out onto a public billboard and nobody seems to have actually looked at the thing in any part of the process.

I’m exhausted, I have an impossibly long to do list and multiple, conflicting deadlines looming. So, there’s only one thing to do: roll up my sleeves, and open Mastodon.

None of these people doing shameful things deserve a place in polite company. They should be shamed for their shameful choices.

The AI industry is also running a PR push to redefine common word usage. The word “slop” is also super effective — so the bros really hate “slop” and try to define it to mean slop they don’t like.

But all AI output is slop. It’s social spam. That’s what it’s for. It’s slop! Say “slop” every time."

Big Tech are gangsters and the ultimate liars. Whatever "fix" Nvidia is proposing, you can be sure it will be extremely damaging to our environment.

There is no "fix" for Big Tech. They are super greedy consumers of energy, water and materials. At their very essence, they are devourers.

It's unsurprising when people still use the term "bots" interchangeably for anything between search engine crawlers, automated accounts like the ones that post the weather every hour, automated accounts that pretend to be real people, real people who are paid to pretend to be other people, and real people they disagree with.

I often meet fellow cat owners who want to compare cat escapades, which usually leads to me saying "My cat is such 'a cat' that he made the international news"

And they laugh at this obvious exaggeration
