Over in #WordPress news, we shipped in Jetpack our Social Sharing feature for Mastodon.
This will allow site owners to link to their Mastodon profile and automatically (or schedule) shares of their blog posts to their fediverse followers.
Automattic is both doing this and working on ActivityPub support for WordPress as two side of the coin. Whether or want your site to natively be on the fediverse or share to other profiles, we want you to do both.

Really not a fan of Discord rolling out a new username system. I thought the old one was neat. Now I see my friends having to put up with modified usernames because someone else grabbed theirs first.

Yesterday was Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference, #WWDC, if you hadn't noticed. This year, I played along entirely on Mastodon, without even opening the other site. I can't tell you how happy I am to report that not only did I not miss it, I actually know people who told me Tw was mostly slow and boring, no real splash, and that they came to Mastodon for the good stuff. Also, not a single performance blip across the internets. +1 to the Fediverse and @Gargron!

Yes, you heard that right. Web apps on Mac, from Safari. *Any* website can be added to your Dock, and opened as a web app. Web app developers can customize their web app with a web manifest file and more — just like for web apps on iOS and iPadOS. Stay tuned for all the details later this week.
