In “weird things Jason does” news, I’m spending my weekend scaring people at the local theater…we do a Haunted Theater fundraiser every year.
This year’s theme is “Horror Through The Ages” so we have a vampire room, fifties sci-fi horror room, Jack the Ripper, and the like.
after searching for some time for a self-hosted bookmarking service, I think I found the winner: Linkding (https://linkding.link). Runs easily in Docker, can host it locally, and I sorted out that to access it remotely i don't even need to expose it to the open 'net, I can just run Tailscale and get to it from anywhere.
Other self-hosting experiments I'm trying out: Paperless for a local archive of family documents (receipts to research docs) and FileFlows for automated file management.
Project Turntable is a fantastic example of a good use of AI in art generation. Rotating a 2d vector and having the 3d shape interpolated is magic. For 2d fabrication like laser cutting or CNC this is so powerful.
