I haven’t watched it in about twenty years or so but reading those tat comics and their strange fixation on Shangri-La caused me to revisit Lost Horizon and it is still a very odd film based on a not especially enjoyable book.

It’s absolutely lusciously filmed and the restoration job is still excellent, but can you imagine if it’s this dull at two and a bit hours, what six hours of it would have been like? It’d be fucking excruciating.

Very much enjoying the fish series.
