two things
first, i'm going to try to make myself work on my tech hobbies less and put more effort into drawing. it's so much easier for me to work on the tech stuff but it's not really fulfilling and i've been really wanting to Do More Art, so i'll do my best. the hardest part is gonna be coming up with ideas honestly as i'm not very imaginative.
second, i've been finding it hard to post on here. don't get me wrong, i like critter cafe, but since it's a public instance i'm responsible for it feels like work. since i made my AD account i've been really enjoying posting there and it's making me consider moving my main account to my personal instance too, to make it more enjoyable for me. i would've already done this if it wasn't for the worry that it's gonna make people feel like i'm abandoning critter cafe as a project - something i have no intention of doing as i'm still enjoying working on it as a project. it just doesn't work for me as a place to post for fun.
@beancat@chitter.xyz YES !! good
u told her she has too many plushies already but she pulls this look wyd
for anyone curious my banner is a pic i took when i was leaving red rocks during my trip to colorado last year, it's honestly not a great pic but with a few edits and the right crop it has good v i b e s, evoking a kinda nostalgic longing mood i think
the things this guy can do in minecraft are insane, the title says arbitrary colors / text displays but 30 seconds in he's rendering real time 3d graphics in the game
@blaurascon @mynotaurus that's a good point, i find myself posting a lot more nonsense on here than i did on cohost, i guess it's the format encouraging it vs cohost's format moreso encouraging sharing higher effort stuff
the biggest thing i miss about cohost i think is how many artists were on there,, i follow like every artist i see on here but there's still almost no art on my timeline
the struggle of wanting a good looking laptop but not wanting to be locked to macos or deal with proprietary unrepairable hardware
like i got my mac for free and i honestly love the thing and macos is mostly great too but i wish i wasn't restricted to just that on this machine u know?
it's not like i'll be in the market for a new laptop anytime soon but sometimes i look just for fun and like,,, how has almost nobody but apple figured out how to put a decent centered trackpad on a laptop? why is it so hard to find a small laptop that doesn't cram a numpad into the tiny space that really shouldn't have a numpad? how has nobody but apple been able to get so many of these basic things right? don't get me wrong i really dislike apple but apparently nobody else can design a good looking laptop
i was looking at the framework laptop which almost gets it right but it has that ugly raised plastic bezel around the screen that makes it look like a cheap toy. i get that you can't really make an easily replaceable screen without it but i at least wish they gave you the option for a laminated glass screen
note: this is just my opinion, everyone has different preferences for what they'd want from a laptop
