A decent year for film I think. But I just saw my hands-down favorite: "Reality". Innovative in subtle ways and brilliantly acted and directed—Sydney Sweeney just superb in the lead. The story of the real-life FBI leaker Reality Winner. I could have watched this again immediately it finished. #film #movies

Just finished this beauty about a part of history I was sketchy on—the English revolution and civil war. Between 1603 and '89, they deposed and executed a king, experimented with a republic for 10 years, finally established the rule of law and primacy of Parliament and the right to religious freedom. "The English now have 42 religions," Voltaire gushed, before adding "but still only two sauces." This is a great page-turning read, with some v surprising parallels to now. #books
