Seems there are two sorts of AI

1: traditional AI: applies to specific problems, reliably finds verifiably correct solutions

2: generic hype AI: inject it into a domain, hope it spontaneously identifies problems that it can solve

2nd type is useless for everything except attracting VC capital.
