Just drove past a big friendly sign saying "We're temporarily closed!" In front of the rubble that was once a McDonald's.
Not sure what this is a metaphor for, but it's a good one.
Oh, hey! @erin_catto (of Box2d fame) has released a 3D version! You will *never* guess what it's called...
Renting a Mazda this week. It has Android Auto, but when the car is moving the touchscreen is unresponsive and you're forced to use a dial/joystick... thing in the center console to navigate. W. T. F??
If this is supposed to be a "safety" feature it's completely backwards, because now I'm spending WAY more time staring at the screen looking for what's highlighted and figuring out how to go to the button I want vs. simply reaching out and tapping it.
Just saw the Steam Machine prices and... Oof.
To be clear, I don't think they have much of a choice. That's just where the world is at. Still, the discourse around it is going to be painful.
Beat Mina the Hollower, but the game went pretty out of its way to let me know I got a "bad" ending. I have an idea of what it would take to get a good ending, but I'm pretty sure it would require a whole new playthrough and no thanks. It was fun, but I'm not itching for an immediate replay.
While I liked the game enough to beat it, there was something about it that never fully clicked for me. Combat felt kinda awkward and I mostly got through by over-levelling early on.
See if you can spot the points in this video where management swoops in and says "Looks great, but how can we work in AI for buzzword-addicted investors?" And then leaves the artist cursing and spending the rest of their afternoon fixing the mess AI made.
Look, I *like* strongly typed languages. But a days worth of scrubbing -Wsign-compare and -Wsign-conversion issues from a large codebase is quickly radicalizing me.
Especially when there are major public APIs that are like:
int get_foo();
void set_foo(size_t value);
🤬
glTF 2.1 is in the works with a whole slew of great features:
- Composing files into large scenes
- Unique IDs for cross-file references
- Embedded thumbnails!
- Bounding volume hierarchies
- .glb files larger than 4Gb
And more!
