@bigzaphod We have a rule in our household - never disclose your actual birthday online, unless it's absolutely necessary and private.
Kids around here all know how to use fake accounts anyway, and social media companies do not need accurate information, it just enables more privacy invasion!
This "for extreme chewers" dog toy actually made it 3 days before Rigel got to the stuffing...

I find myself privately sharing @slightlyoff 's post on The Market for Lemons yet again:
"In a bazaar dominated by lemon vendors, many tools and communities have been respectful of today's mostly-mobile users at the expense of their own marketability. These are today's honest brokers and they deserve your attention far more than whatever solution to a problem created by React that the React community is on about this week."

@sabik @b0rk I think of the tree in your drawing as the "DAG" -- the underlying structure of the commits in the repository, and branches as sticky-notes that can be attached to any of the nodes.
But then you'd need to explain what a DAG is...
If you can get that concept across, it helps explain commits that aren't on a branch -- they just don't have a sticky note...
As a #DevOps person, I've been thinking about how we might work #FeatureFlag into sites, so we can push code out to production without it being active.
This pattern allows testing integrations, developing on top of future functionality, etc.
So I was surprised to see a new config in a #Drupal 10.1 upgrade -- system.feature_flags !
Right now just the Decoupled Menus initiative uses it -- instead of being a separate module, it's enabled/disabled through a config setting.
As my daughter would say, "Sick!"
I just hooked up my Thunderbird Supernova using https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/filelink-nextcloud-owncloud/?src=search , and now it uploads large file attachments to my private Nextcloud, adds a sharing link, and embeds it all in the email with the press of a button. Took longer to write this message than to get it set up!
Nice work.
@tamas @b0rk @evan My git history resembles my desk -- chaotic, disordered, a messy pile of stuff!
I haven't had any trouble with git bisect, though maybe I've just gotten lucky -- I don't use it all that often (but have used it 4 - 5 times in the past year)
@b0rk @evan I understand why you can't push after a rebase, but I also don't understand why people say "rebase is good". Would love to hear about these workflows where it matters...
Just finished creating a nodejs script to easily create orgs and repos within a @forgejo / #gitea server, from a shell.
And created ~45 new repositories in a matter of a few minutes!
h/t @erikareads Ctrl-Shift-S in Firefox opens a really slick screen shot tool! Select an element, drag for a region, button for full page or viewport!
